Broncos coach Josh McDaniels is doing his best to keep the competition for the No. 2 quarterback job between Tim Tebow and Brady Quinn alive heading into Sunday’s regular-season opener against the Jaguars.
McDaniels told reporters on nfl throwback jerseys
Tuesday that he hasn’t decided who will back up Kyle Orton and he’ll let Tebow and Quinn compete for the job this week.
“We’re not going to name (the No. 2 QB) right now,” McDaniels said during his press conference. “We got three that we like and … (Tebow and Quinn) are going to compete, and we’ll try to make the decision that we feel is best on game day for our team, based on how Dallas Cowboys jersey
we’re going to play the game.”
The favorite so far has been Tebow, who replaced Orton in the final two preseason games.
If the plan is — as Mike Chambers writes for The Post — to keep only two quarterbacks on the active 45-player roster, it would seem to weigh heavily in Tebow’s favor. The thinking throughout the offseason has been that the Broncos will get Tebow on the field in Pittsburgh Steelers jersey
red zone, short-yardage or Wildcat packages. If those packages are in the game plan against the Jaguars, it’s likely Tebow suits up.
